CercleS – the European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education – is pleased to invite you to the XVIII CercleS International Conference 2024, “Multilingualism & the Anglosphere” between 12-14 September 2024. The event will be hosted by AULC at Durham University.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts has been extended to 1 March 2024. 

Conference registration will open on 1 March 2024.

Registration

Conference registration will open in February 2024.  Details on registration costs and the programme outline will be available by the end of 2023.

Travel and Accommodation

Durham is a small city in the north of England.  Our nearest airport is Newcastle (NCL), with other airports at London (4-5h), Manchester (3h), Leeds Bradford (2h) and Edinburgh (2h).  To reach Durham from Newcastle airport one can travel by taxi (c. 35-45 minutes; £30-£45), or take the Tyne & Wear metro from the airport to Newcastle Central station, and the train on to Durham (c. 45 minutes; £15).  There are regular trains between Edinburgh (1h 20m), London King’s Cross (3h 00m), and other major UK cities.
