Cercles – the European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education – is pleased to invite you to the XVII CercleS International Conference 2022, “The Future of Language Education in an Increasingly Digital World: Embracing Change”, which will take place on 15-17 September 2022. The event is hosted by ReCLes.pt, the Association of Language Centres in Higher Education, in Portugal, at ISCAP – The Porto Accounting and Business School, Porto, Portugal. Deadline for submissions: 13 March 2022

This conference on 10-11 May 2022 in Brussels, Belgium, targets and aims to bring together language teachers working in universities and continuing education institutions around Europe and beyond who have an interest in LSP through e-learning along with other graduate-employment stakeholders for a two-day event featuring: themed sessions, keynote speakers, and panel discussions with partners.

We would like to share briefly some of the outcomes of a colloquium that CercleS was invited to attend as a partner of the European Centre for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe: “The future of language education in the light of Covid – lessons learned and ways forward”. The colloquium was held on 14th December 2021 and the ECML Professional Network Forum (PNF) meeting held on 15th December 2021.

Obwohl sie nicht immer berücksichtigt wird – Mehrsprachigkeit ist schon lange Normalität im weltweiten DaF-Unterricht. Dabei bezieht sich Mehrsprachigkeit sowohl auf die Lernenden selbst, da sie in den meisten Fällen bereits Englisch gelernt haben und über Kenntnisse in verschiedenen Erstsprachen verfügen, als auch auf die Mehrsprachigkeit im deutschsprachigen Raum. Aber wie kann diese Mehrsprachigkeit im Unterricht sichtbar gemacht und anschließend sinnvoll berücksichtigt werden?

The Language Centre of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, in collaboration with AICLU (Italian Association of University Language Centres), is pleased to announce the 25th AICLU Seminar, "Learning, teaching and assessment of languages: digital perspectives and opportunities", to be held on the 23rd and 24th of September 2021, in mixed mode, i.e. in presence and remotely, at the Language Centre, in Largo Sant'Eufemia, 19 - Modena.
